This stuff seems to work wonders on blackheads. Whiteheads & full blown pimples remain unscathed however. Despite the fact that it's an acne cleanser, it doesn't really prevent many pimples. Has a scent that reminds me of a strong unsweetened herbal tea. Cleanses well, & is non drying, but I expected more for the price.

I switched to this from Clinique's Acne Solutions foaming cleanser. I evaluated each for more than 12 weeks, using twice daily. This is a glycerin based product, while Clinique's is Cocamidopropyl Betaine. The glycerin product is more pleasant to use with a slick feel and a nice herbal smell like sage. I have tried these as well as other salicyclic acid cleansers like Neutrogena. None of these have been a complete solution to acne. Good results may require a facial soap (I use Cliniques but Anthony Logistics also has a bar soap I haven't yet tried), a facial toner, and a Benzoyl Peroxide cream. I also reviewed A-L's treatment cream, which has not been as effective as Benzoyl Peroxide.

I use this as a night cleanser. It seems to work alright to de-oil and clean the skin but does not wipe out acne. Has a unique smell, just like everyone else describes.
